Guitar hero Kim Se-hwang is one of only a handful of South Korean rockstars to successfully make his mark on the global stage. The first Korean to be inducted into Hollywood’s Rock Walk, he is also the first Asian to receive an Honorary Doctorate from the famous Los Angeles Musician’s Institute and the first Korean to represent the guitar brand Gibson. Kim began playing the guitar at 4 years old, taught by his Classical guitarist mother. Although best known for his work with experimental rock band N.E.X.T, he is an open-minded, diverse and large-hearted artist, playing Vivaldi with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Space Rock Opera with London Symphony Orchestra, lecturing at universities on the philosophy of music and playing concerts for children at his daughter’s kindergarten.
